About:
The Lonesome Town Painters are a tried-and-true, bona fide bluegrass band hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia These fellas have a look, style and sound that harkens back to the raw and ragged edge of the genre. And while they draw deeply from the masters of the golden era, it’s their original songs that demonstrate just how far these fellas have come. Their songwriting is grounded in tradition, anchored by the soaring harmonies, melodic instrumentation and pushing drive that has come to define their spirited and highly entertaining performances.
Press:
“The Lonesome Town Painters excel at combining skill and sentiment. Unlike some of their contemporaries, they make no attempt to veer from the template or add any unexpected elements to the mix. Rather, they do the opposite by simply adhering to a familiar formula. It works to their advantage; every offering sounds like a standard, one that’s practically indistinguishable from any of the music made by the masters. The result is an album that already stands the test of time, courtesy of the fact that every offering keeps to that singular spirit of classic bluegrass through its emphasis, execution, and articulation. Simply stated, nominations for the IBMA Bluegrass Awards ought not be out of the question.”

"The Lonesome Town Painters have presented us with another album of their hardcore traditional bluegrass stylings. Their third release, Go Out & Paint The Town, is arguably the most original of their recordings thus far. The Lonesome Town Painters are continuing to keep tradition tradition alive while also bringing their own original ideas to the forefront in their best work to date."
- Braeden Paul, Bluegrass Today
"The Lonesome Town Painters certainly meet, and even surpass, expectations. Their picking, lead singing and harmonies are impeccable. And their original songs (bandmembers wrote nearly all these 13 tracks) are starkly original and emotionally and thematically varied, even as they hew to strict early bluegrass conventions."

“The Lonesome Town Painters faithfully recreate the look and sound of classic bluegrass music. Gathered around a single microphone, they bring the music of Bill Monroe and The Stanley Brothers to life with outstanding musicianship and performance.”
-Pete Goodall, KBCS Bluegrass Ramble, Seattle, WA
“When watching the Lonesome Town Painters perform, it is impossible to keep a smile off your face or keep your feet from tapping. As one of the top bluegrass acts in the lower mainland the band not only have the sounds to transport you back in time, they also have the look and the drawl of southern gentlemen. Their original numbers reflected the humour of the band members, including songs about criminals from New West and Cheating in East Vancouver...neither of which, the band assured us, where autobiographical.”

"All in all, The Lonesome Town Painters are the epitome of traditional troubadours, and to their credit, their dedication to past precepts allows them to look back by moving the genre forward. And in that regard, it’s hard to imagine they’ll remain lonesome much longer."
